الخلفية: برنامج تحسين التغذية الخاص للنساء والرضع والأطفال (WIC) يمكن أن يساعدك وأطفالك الصغار في الحصول على الطعام واستشارات التغذية والإحالات إلى خدمات اجتماعية.

Background: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) can help you and your young children get food, nutrition counseling, and social service referrals.

 

تحقق مما إذا كنت مؤهلاً لبرنامج تحسين التغذية الخاص للنساء والرضع والأطفال (WIC) وقدم طلبًا:

– إذا كنت تقدم الطلب لنفسك، يجب أن تكون على الأقل واحدة من الفئات التالية:

  – حامل

  – ترضع (حتى بلوغ الطفل عامه الأول)

  – في غضون ستة أشهر من ولادتك أو انتهاء فترة الحمل

– إذا كنت تقدم الطلب لأطفالك، يجب أن يكونوا تحت سن 5 سنوات.

– يجب أن تستوفي متطلبات الأهلية الأخرى لبرنامج WIC استنادًا إلى دخلك وصحتك ومكان إقامتك.

– ستخبرك وكالة WIC الخاصة بولايتك أو المنطقة بكيفية التقديم وأماكن التقديم، وما يجب إحضاره في موعدك.

– تدير وكالة الخدمات الغذائية والتغذية برنامج WIC على الصعيدين الفيدرالي، حيث يتولى الوكالات الولائية تحديد أهلية المشاركين وتقديم الفوائد والخدمات، والموافقة على الموردين.

Find out if you are eligible for WIC and apply

• If you are applying for yourself, you must be at least one of the following:
• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding (up to the baby’s first birthday)
• Within six months of having given birth or your pregnancy ending
• If you are applying for your children, they must be under 5 years old.
• You must meet other WIC eligibility requirements based on your income, your health, and where you live.
• Your state or local WIC agency will tell you how and where to apply and what to bring to your appointment.
• The Food and Nutrition Service administers the WIC program at the federal level; state agencies are responsible for determining participant eligibility and providing benefits and services, and for authorizing vendors.

To apply to be a WIC participant, you will need to contact your state or local agency to set up an appointment. Check out your state’s website or call the toll-free number. When you call to set up an appointment, someone will tell you the location nearest your home and what you need to bring with you.  See Tab A WIC – What You Need for WIC Support Documents.
