س زمینه: الف. اغلب پناهندگان با یک کیسه پلاستیکی حاوی اطلاعات مهم از سازمان بین‌المللی مهاجرت (IOM) وارد می‌شوند. این اسناد برای تمامی آژانس‌های بازتوطین در ایالات متحده و همچنین دفاتر ایالتی و محلی در هنگام پردازش اولیه حیاتی هستند. این اسناد برای هرگونه درخواست برای اقامت دائم قانونی و تابعیت ایالات متحده که ۵ سال پس از اقامت دائم قانونی است، ضروری می‌باشند. متأسفانه، گم شدن هر یک از این اسناد می‌تواند به پناهنده آسیب برساند.

ب. به شدت توصیه می‌شود که برای پناهنده به سرعت یک پوشه فایل منظم ایجاد شود. علاوه بر این، ثبت دیجیتالی مانند اسکن به فرمت PDF به شدت توصیه می‌شود. از آنجایی که تمام پناهندگان باید یک تلفن همراه داشته باشند، فایل‌ها می‌توانند اسکن شده و درون فایل‌های تصویری ذخیره شوند. این روش به ویژه برای آن دسته از سازمان‌هایی که نیازی به نسخه اصلی ندارند و اجازه می‌دهند فایل‌های PDF به آنها ایمیل شود، بسیار مناسب است.

Background: 

1. Frequently refugees arrive with an International Organization of Migration (IOM) plastic bag of important information.  These documents are vital for all U.S. resettlement agencies as well as state and local offices at initial inprocessing.  The documents are also vital for any applications for legal permanent residence and U.S. Citizenship which is 5 years after legal permanent residence.  Unfortunately, losing any of these documents can hurt the newcomer.  
2. It is highly recommended that an organized file folder be quickly established for the newcomer.  Additionally, a digital record such as scanning to a PDF format is highly recommended.  Since all refugees must have a cell phone, files can be scanned and stored within the picture files.  This works especially well for those organizations which do not require the original copy and allow PDF files to be mailed to them.

سوابق پزشکی. پناهندگان (با وضعیت خاصی) اغلب از اردوگاه‌های پناهندگان سازمان ملل می‌آیند. مدت متوسط اقامت در اردوگاه‌ها ۱۵ سال است. گزارش پزشکی “معمولاً” قبل از ورود همراه با واکسیناسیون انجام می‌شود. این گزارش‌ها به مرکز پزشکی محلی ایالات متحده در پاکت‌های مهر و موم شده فرستاده می‌شوند. برای ثبت نام کودکان سن مدرسه، یک پاکت مهر و موم شده از واکسیناسیون‌ها توسط این مرکز پزشکی برای مدرسه فراهم می‌شود.

Medical Records.  Refugees (a specific status) frequently come from United Nations Refugee Camps. Average stay at camps is 15 years.  A medical report is “usually” taken before arrival along with vaccinations.  These reports go the local U.S. medical facility in sealed envelopes.  In order to register school aged children, a SEALED envelope of vaccinations is provided by this medical facility for the school.
